Fife Council

Using £185,000 from the Central Energy Efficiency Fund (CEEF), Fife Council used Ambiflex on a project to install systems on 37 sites to control electric heating and achieved payback in 1.57 years.

Ambiflex have just launched new controllers which will soon be available

Ambiflex MF626 Controller

This new controller is the latest in the MF620 family. It now has four extra Digital Inputs available, bringing the total to 8, to allow greater flexibility when it comes to the increased requirement for metering and monitoring. We have also brought into the MF626 some of the features of the focus controller which we believe will make the controllers easier for end users to operate on a day-to-day basis. In particular these deal with the User Display facility, Time Tabling and Diary Events. For further details see our datasheet.

Ambiflex MF828 Controller

The new MF828 controller will support up to 8 LDCX cards (200+ points), this will make the system a very competitive product for some of the larger projects. The MF828 will have significantly extended data logging features, and will be a very powerful controller. A datasheet on this new controller is also available. Until the MF828 is ready for official release the MF822 is still available.

LDCN Controller Expansion Module

This new expansion card for use with the MF820 controller has 8 analogue outputs and 4 digital inputs. It has been designed to overcome problems where more analogue outputs are required, e.g. when using modulating boilers. The LDCN card and the LDCX card are fully interchangeable on an MF820 system.

Ambilink GL Software

We are also pleased to be able to offer our new Ambilink software, which is a windows based communications package. This new software can support direct, modem or Ethernet connections. The software administrator can set up password entry and access at differing levels on the controllers from basic user to full engineering. Other features include facilities such as graphics/picture pages and alarm monitoring which incorporates a forwarding system via SMS and E-Mail should the client wish.

We have also received queries regarding the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme. All our controllers qualify for ECA and are listed under ‘optimising controllers’ rather than Building Management Systems (BMS) and should therefore be referred to as this to qualify. The claim value for this sector is £3000 plus £300 per zone controlled.
